New dates for 2021 to deliver the best Festival yet

We have decided to slightly push back this year’s Harrogate Film Festival to start Friday 23^rd April 2021 and finish on Sunday 2^nd May 2021.

As much as we have a Festival planned and raring to go virtually, during our usual slot at the start of March, with over 90% of our events planned to be held online, with a rapid vaccine rollout across the country we felt it made sense to push the Festival back eight weeks. With the outlook of a better world at that time looking like a real reality, whereas March still looks very uncertain. The slight movement of date will hopefully provide some respite to people as it may allow us to not only hold these events virtually as planned but also some of them in-person, socially distanced and safe.

We’d hope the extra time will allow us to get some film lovers back in cinemas watching new independent cinema while giving our supporters and audiences more options, more events, more interactivity and more opportunity to join in, which we know film and festival-goers are longing for. So, being ambitious, we are aiming to give that in an innovative way this April.

We will be announcing more events such, comprising of our worldwide filmmakers’ competition, experience screenings, workshops, talks and some incredibly special events.
