Harrogate Film Festival presents and event in conjunction with Harrogate Film Society to bring you the second of two outstanding films from 1994.
Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction featured career defining performances from John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson and highlighted how on-screen violence could successfully be marketed as entertainment at the box office. With a non-linear editing style and a 'surfer' aesthetic soundtrack, the film's interleaving stories all lead to the underworld hit-man Jules (played by Jackson) and his desire for a more peaceful life. The film set a new benchmark for on-screen style and story-telling.
Come and watch the film and join the discussion afterwards, hosted by Henry Thompson, Research Fellow in film at the University of Manchester.
Tickets are £10 and will include a drink at the bar. Pulp Fiction will screen at 3pm on Sunday 3 March upstairs at North Bar, in Harrogate.
(Please note that the film is rated 18 by the bbfc.)
