GUEST BLOG: "The Festival really has something for everybody" - Rebus Design

As a local company specialising in graphic design, we are keen to support initiatives that not only bring recognition to our region but also highlight innovation within the digital sector.

The inaugural Harrogate Film Festival opens on the 3 March 2017 – with a kick-off event at The Crown Hotel. The theme for this year’s festival is ‘The Future of Film’. Quentin Tarantino said that for him film was a “lifelong study”, while Steven Spielberg has undoubtedly lived by his own belief that “You shouldn’t dream your film, you should make it”.  Whatever your own belief system is around film, it really does have the power to promote brands, ideas and concepts, challenge and change perception and provide you with reality, yet often much needed escapism!

Life on the screen

The Festival really has something for everybody, with scheduled screenings covering different genres to include drama and comedy. But importantly it also seeks to identify and encourage upcoming talent, via independent filmmaker competitions and workshops. As sponsors of the Drama award category – film screenings open to all on the 4 March at the Everyman, Harrogate - we are hopeful that everybody will be kept on the edge of their seat.

Overall the Festival has attracted over 708 independent films covering all categories, from 56 countries worldwide. What better place to showcase these than in Harrogate.

Brand awareness, past, present and BACK TO THE FUTURE

Many brands have taken advantage of film to engage with their audience. And working with clients to improve logos and branding is something that we love to do every day. Having a strong brand can help to drive a business or organisation into the future. It enables you to achieve your goals and positively reinforce how your customers, stakeholders and peers see you. It encourages people to buy from you, work for you and recommend you. We are very happy to associate our brand with The Harrogate Film Festival and its sponsors. With this unique event on our doorstep, Harrogate is undoubtedly looking forward to a very promising future of its own.

Hope to see you at one of the screenings…
